What a wild day this was. @oketreenetwork.vicky turned Castleham Lodge into a Zoo for the afternoon!

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN PHOTOGRAPHY 📷

Being creative can be so beneficial. It's a chance to immerse yourself in your own imagination or escapism in a certain subject. It allows individuals the freedom of self-expression that may not be realised elsewhere. Creativity helps the mind to focus and can aid metal health and well-being. It brings people together and can be stimulating and fulfilling.

Many of the people we support do not have access to opportunities to be creative and we want to change that. We know that with the right support people can be encouraged to unlock their potential and inspire others.

One particular individual has done just that ….her passion and talent for photography is inspiring and we want to help showcase her work and that of others we support in a local exhibition.

Working in partnership with Immersion – Okehampton's virtual reality gaming studio who is providing the exhibition space and with support with printing and framing from Okehampton Photo Centre the Oke Tree Networks photography exhibition will open on
Tuesday 25th April.

Please join us for our official launch event on Tuesday 25th from 3pm to 6pm. come and share drinks, nibbles and a natter with Ellie and some of the artists. We hope that the exhibition will stay in situ for at least a month so if you can’t make the launch event then pop into immersion any other time until the end of May.

The natural history museum, followed by the national space museum with a 3D space tour. Then followed by the Lion King !!!

The London eye and Rivere Thames cruise, shopping in Regent Street, Leicester Square, Soho.

And a lot of good food, in fact, so much amazing food, we have to do a separate post for it!

We made the most of the bank holiday last week 🎉

To celebrate the queens 70th year on the throne, we threw a party with a band, cream tea and a mega raffle which raised an amazing £220 for the British hear foundation and cancer research uk.

A huge thank you to the Okehampton singalele band who kept everyon entertained all afternoon.

A big thank you to @made_well_hatherleigh cafe at Castleham for supplying us with all the tasty bits !

Another masive thank you to @yourguinness for giving us £150 to spend on food which allowed us to give out free cream tea and drinks all day ❤

More thank you's to all the local businesses that donated prizes for our raffle which allowed us to raise money for some amazing charities!!!

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who got involved and made it what it was. 💚

This month we re-launched the Roots project after a long year and a bit. It's wonderful to be back crafting and grafting with this amazing group of people.

Thanks to Access to work funding, we are able to help support individuals at work. This is our friend Ross ( Roadside Ross ) who has been working as a grounds keeper at the local service station for over a year now.
